    You Will Be Responsible For:
    
    • 
      Contacts insurance companies by phone, fax, or online portal to obtain insurance benefits, eligibility, and authorization information.
    • 
      Accurately enters required information in system to include length of authorization and total number of visits.
    • 
      Documents appropriate level of detail to maintain a record of activities.
    • 
      Responsible for denial notification to clinical counterparts.
    • 
      Itemizes patient responsibility to include any co-pay, co-insurance and outstanding deductible and notes account accordingly.
    • 
      Demonstrates flexibility in responding to priorities and organizational change.
    • 
      Demonstrates the ability to work under pressure and follow through on assignments despite setbacks.
      
      Qualifications
      
      What You Will Need:
      
      • 
        High school diploma or equivalent
      • 
        6 - 12 months related healthcare experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • 
        One year or more of health care patient access or pre-access experience, preferred
        
        
        Job Summary:
        
        
        This position is responsible for obtaining accurate and timely eligibility and benefits information from the payer, along with initial authorization of services according to the agency's request. Clear communication verbally and in writing is required to address possible coverage issues.
