Summary
The Director of Human Resources will be part of the property executive committee, and will assist the EVP/COO and other leaders to achieve Sunseeker Resorts human capital goals and objectives by providing an employee-oriented, high performance culture focused on hospitality, job performance, and customer satisfaction. The Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the HR division including benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development of staff, wage & hour compliance, training, workers compensation and legal matters related to resort Team Members.



Minimum Requirements
Combination of Education and Experience will be considered. Must be authorized to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Act of 1986. Must pass a Criminal Background Check. No Visa Sponsorship for this role.
Education: Bachelor s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Certification: Yes
Certification Other: CPLP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM, CP, SCP or similar human resources certification.
Years of Experience: Minimum five (5) years of related work experience in the Hotel and/or Resort industry in a senior leadership role.



Preferred Requirements
Employee Labor Relations experience, as well as knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources within a large multifaceted organization.
Experience with a start-up or development of a new division.
Experience with supporting a remote shared services department (i.e. Comp, Benefits/TA).
Familiar with basic immigration laws specific to H-28B visa regulations and processes.
Experience in opening new and/or re-branded properties, including the ability to guide employee marketing and operation of an employee recruitment center.
A servant leadership style preferred.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.



Job Duties
Develop and execute comprehensive strategies, initiatives and tactics to align property culture and brand with company objectives and ultimately drive organization performance in the areas of employee engagement and guest service.
Leading hiring and staffing of all phases of the resort development.
Collaborate and build relationships within the property and key external stakeholders to contribute to the success of the resort.
Ensure full understanding of the needs and concerns of each individual department, having the ability to collaborate on solutions tailored to each group.
Provide input and direction in the development and monitoring of department operations and strategies to produce both short-term and long-term success for the resort.
Drive performance management processes, ensuring meaningful discussions and constructive feedback with strategic business outcomes.
Interface with all other departments to ensure successful execution of Sunseeker Resorts or Allegiant Travel Company sponsored employee engagement events, activities and communications at the property level.
Liaise with the Learning & Development department to develop and implement leadership development programs and guest service initiatives, as well as completion of required compliance training.
Maintain a work environment that promotes guest service, collaboration, innovation, integrity, teamwork, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction. Model daily a servant leader mindset, encouraging the enablement of all employees to perform at a high level, and to be anxiously engaged with continuous improvement.
Ensure initiatives are properly executed to support the mission, vision, and values of Sunseeker Resorts and Allegiant Travel Company.
Provide insight into key performance indicators and employee trends, lead research and analysis, as well as evaluate and implement new practical strategies and tactics to achieve success of human capital.
Provide leadership with advice and counsel, using industry techniques and methods that analyze information, outline potential risks, and recommends appropriate courses of action.
Maintain and update policies and procedures, as well as ensure compliance with federal, state, county, and city regulations concerning employment.
Collect timely data to support business initiatives through various methodologies.
Evaluate, develop, and implement new approaches and/or procedural changes to support continual improvement.
Lead special projects to successful completion; objectively reporting all milestones and achievements.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
