Job Description
Assists nursing service personnel with a variety of patient care
activities and related services necessary in caring for the
personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists with personal
hygiene, takes vital signs and changes bed linens. May serve and
collect food trays, provide for between-meal nourishment, and
clean, sterilize, store and prepare other supplies. Relies on
instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the
functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically
reports to a registered nurse or supervisor. Requires a high school
diploma or its equivalent and 1-2 years of related experience. Has
knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures

workforce before graduating nursing school and be paired with a
nurse mentor to support your learning. The student nurse is a
candidate brought into this program after successfully completing
one semester of nursing school. A Student Nurse works under the
supervision and/or direction of the Director, Clinical Manager or
Professional RN, performs various duties that does not require
licensure. He/She will assist Professional RN's in the treatment
and care of patients in accordance with the established policies
and procedures of ShorePoint Health Port Charlotte and Punta
